Foundation Executive Director
Motivated by the mission of our Bishop to make disciples, grounded in solid stewardship principles and dedicated to advancing the mission of our Church in the Diocese of Springfield, the position requires exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with all levels of clergy and laity. Primary responsibilities will be to serve as the Chief Development Officer of the Diocese of Springfield, to lead and manage all aspects of the Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of Springfield, set the strategic direction of all diocesan development efforts, cultivate major relationships and offer planned giving opportunities.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree, Juris Doctorate, and/or relevant professional certification/credentials preferred.
At least five years of exceptional strategic leadership in development, with knowledge of estate planning and planned giving strategies and demonstrated success with major gift solicitation, stewardship and planned giving programs is strongly preferred. Experience with a non‐profit or the Catholic Church with a background in capital campaigns and endowments is preferred. Candidate should be a fluent user of Microsoft Office, with practical familiarity of various donor database software solutions.

Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Business Manager
Our Lady of the Valley is seeking a qualified professional to oversee all financial aspects of parish operations.
Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience.
Strong understanding of Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statements and especially the relationship between the two statements.
Ability to maintain
Proficiency in Diocesan accounting software, Intacct, as
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with the Pastor, the Finance Council Oversight Representative and the full Parish Finance
Scope of Responsibilities:
All of these responsibilities are to be performed for the following entities:
Our Lady of the Valley Parish
Our Lady’s Child Care Center
Parish Cemeteries (St. Stanislaus and St. Brigid)
Establish and enforce strong internal controls as defined by the Diocese.
Work with the Pastor and Finance Council in all Parish financial matters providing them with the information they seek to manage parish
Process payroll in a timely Accumulate and transmit weekly payroll information to Checkwriters payroll system. Verify payroll information recorded in accounting system. Process any employee changes in Checkwriters.
Oversee PayPal account affiliated with the Website account.
Maintain employee personnel records: g. I-9s, W-4s, M-4s, etc.
Other administrative duties as required, including answering phones and Parish Office door as needed.

Diocese of Springfield, Director of Sacred Music, Part-time
St. Michael’s Cathedral is an urban and diverse parish nestled in Western Massachusetts. Providing sacred music for the weekly liturgy and pontifical celebrations are the cornerstone of this music ministry. We are seeking a committed Catholic who can fulfill the part-time role of the Director, and Chief Organist. This ministerial classified position is located within the Office of Worship, and reports to the Rector of the Cathedral and the Director of the Office of Worship. This position requires collaboration with a diverse group of musicians, and parishioners. As Director, this position is responsible for the coordination and execution of sacramental and pontifical musical accompaniment.
The Rector of the Cathedral and the Director of the Office of Worship jointly supervise this position, which provides liturgical music for the Bishop of Springfield, and the Rector of the Cathedral.
Provides music for pontifical liturgies
Supervises the Assistant
Assists in the planning of pontifical celebrations in conjunction with the rector, Cathedral and diocesan personnel
Provides the Office of Worship, with information and educational sessions for diocesan musicians, including organists, choir directors and cantors, as requested.
Maintains a budget from the Office of Worship to include other musicians, equipment repair, maintenance, and supplies.
Judiciously uses Choir Endowment fund.
As requested, will provide liturgical music selections or be called on to play for the funeral services of clergy of the Diocese of Springfield.
Selects and provides music for three weekend liturgies: weekdays as requested and for holy days and special parish celebrations as well.
Serves as a resource for the parish Gospel and Latino choirs
Regular organist for the Holy Sacraments of Matrimony and The Rite of Christian Burial.
Encourages congregational singing with the use of our Ritual Song hymnal
Recruits, trains, directs, develops and maintains Cathedral choir(s), (with a strong commitment to youth), cantors and soloists
Meets and works collaboratively with those responsible for liturgy at the Cathedral
Administers liturgical music including planning, budget, scheduling and timely communication
Ensures the maintenance of musical equipment
Maintains Music Library
Working knowledge of computer technology and music software
